The Café is situated at the top level of the glazed "link" area and has an indoor seating capacity for 65 persons, which benefits from the spectacular views across the valley due to the full height, glazed façades of the link area. There is also a balcony with seating for 16 people, sharing the same spectacular view, which leads out from the internal restaurant via glazed doors.

Adjacent to the balcony is a roof terrace area with a garden and features flowering sedum planting, gravel beds and an open paved area for the furniture. The restaurant, balcony and roof terrace have been designed to allow for disabled access to each area.

The materials used within the restaurant are of a high quality, not only to be robust but also to reflect the aspirations of the University to create a world-class research and business environment. Natural slate, granite, stainless steel and natural wood have been selected for the servery, loose furniture and flooring along with real planting to create a relaxed, informal atmosphere.

Emphasis will be on service by a dedicated team, quality and customer choice to facilitate interaction and networking between building users and visitors. The Cafe provides executive catering to meeting rooms and can also be re-arranged to host private meetings, product launches and events in the evening

During the day Café 21 servers; a hot dish of the day, special Infolab baguette, homemade soup plus other cakes and snacks, Fair trade speciality coffees straight from the bean, Twining fruit teas and a limited range of alcohol plus soft drinks.
